Welcome Baby Makenzie!

Welcome Makenzie Emma Bodily!

Born April 10, 2012

Weighing 8 lb. and 5 oz.

measuring 19 1/2 inches

We are thrilled that she is here! We have loved having this little one in our home. We were a bit worried that Clarke wouldn't be excited, but as you can see, he LOVES her. He loves holding her, and he's the first to run to her when she cries "Baby's crying!!" He got very protective at the Dr. office yesterday, telling him to "Leave Kenzie alone!" It was really cute.

Ready or not, here baby comes!!

Well, tomorrow is the day! We are expecting the arrival of a sweet baby girl bright and early in the morning (it's a planned c-section)! So, here are a few pictures of me ready to pop (and the more true picture--me laying in the recliner)! We are super excited, but also nervous. Mommy of 4?? eek, I hope I can do it! And, we may be signing off for a while--the blog is all updated for now, and we'll see when I get back to it!!

Easter of 2012

Clarke really got into egg-coloring this year--he was fascinated and had his portion colored before the other kids were 1/2 way done. We ended up redipping a few to satisfy him. As soon as they were colored, he wanted to eat one. He has such a thing for eggs, which is funny, cuz he's my pickiest eater!! So, 2 of our newly colored eggs didn't make it to Easter day. He sat and ate 2 whole boiled eggs, haha! The kids had fun hunting for eggs, and loved the goodies in their baskets. Marissa is in love with her stick-on fingernails, Chandler loved his paint set, and Clarke just wanted all the candy. The kids were up so early, but Ty and I weren't ready to get up till 7--what mean parents, huh?

Spring Break of 2012

Well, spring break wasn't quite what we planned. Thursday night Chandler woke up throwing up, and by Sunday, all 5 of us had it. It was a miserable, intense flu, and by Sunday night, we had all 4 beds to change sheets on, plus a few batches of blankets, towels, rags, etc. We were finally better by the following Wednesday, with only a small part of our vacation left. So much for getting a bunch of projects done before the baby! I didn't really take any other pictures, but we did end up glazing our armoire, having a pizza making night, cooking freezer meals with my mom (we each got 17 meals done!) and the project above--"sand art". We actually just put a couple of drops of food coloring into a cup of sugar in a ziplock, then shake, shake, shake. The kids played with it for hours while Clarke and I napped!

Canning Jars

My dad bought a new farm with this old, decrepid house on it, but there was some buried treasure--there were hundreds of canning jars in the garage. My mom and I and the kids and Kirsten went over and filled our cars with box-fuls of jars before the house was burned down because last year we ran out! And, they run about $1 each, even at DI, so I brought home 113, and mom had a few more boxes than me, so we think it was a good deal! It was quite an adventure that the kids are still talking about--we think the old occupants were hoarders! Some were full and Marissa was quite intrigued with figuring out what was in each one as we emptied them. Kinda feel bad for pouring someone's hard work down the drain...but I don't think any of it was good, and none of it was labeled.

Race in Burley

My parents, Kirsten, and David and Laci were part of a race in Burley. They tried to get us to join, but at 8 months pregnant, it was a no go. Then we woke up to yucky weather and were kinda glad we weren't part of it. But, the really funny thing was that it went right behind our house, so we got to wave and take pictures. They made 2 laps right by us, then came here to change into dry clothes, and we went to lunch together after. Good job guys--mabe next year we'll join in!

Just like dad...

I don't really understand the fascination with growing up, but I know that's how I was when I was little too. All the things grown-ups do seem so fun--like shaving!! Maybe it's the ooey gooey shaving cream, or maybe this little guy just really wants to be just like his dad.

Sam's baptism 3/3/12

The kid's cousin, Sam, was baptized up in Rexburg. It was a quick but fun trip. It seems like those little 8 year olds keep getting younger and younger...or maybe I'm just getting older.

The two cutest boys in the world

Finally, some snow! 3/1/12

Well, it took clear till March to get some snow, and it lasted for a day and a half, but the kids enjoyed it while they could. Marissa tried out all her tumbling moves in the soft snow, Chandler enjoyed dipping/covering various parts with snow, and Clarke was kicking the snow. We had to put 2 of Ty's big socks over Clarke's hand to act as gloves and cover his cast.

My old man 2/3/12

Chandler's class dressed up as 100 year olds for the 100th day of school!! Champ loves to dress up! I think he looks cute.

Our poor little Clarke

Oh, I shudder even thinking about this post. Our 2 year old Clarke has survived a lot lately, and it all started with jumping off the couch. I was in church meetings and Ty had just gotten home from his church meetings. Chandler and Marissa were ready for church and so they went down to watch a scripture story. Clarke was fresh out of the tub, running around in his diaper, and Ty was eating some breakfast. That's how I left the house...then in the middle of my meeting, one of the stake presidency got off the stand and came down to me in the audience and said, "I just got a text from your husband, and there has been an emergency--you need to go home right now." My heart dropped, and I quickly ran out. I called Ty in the lobby and he told me Clarke had jumped off the couch and his arm was broken. I asked if maybe he was over-reacting, even though I could here Clarke crying. He said that his arm was U-shaped. I tried not to panic, breathing deeply as I drove home. When I got there, all 3 kids were crying. Poor Clarke was hurting, and the other two just felt so bad for him and were scared. So, we all packed up and went to the ER in our Sunday clothes. It wasn't a long wait, which was good. We texted our parents and my mom and sister ended up being there half way through. Clarke cried the WHOLE time. He was so mad that I couldn't be there for x-rays (being 7 months pregnant!). He finally calmed down and fell asleep after a shot of demerol, but was rudely awakened by Dr. Joe resetting his bone. I cried too... that's hard for a mama to watch. He put on a splint thing and we went home. On day 2, we went to get a real cast and found out his other arm was broken too. We decided just to check, and sure enough, both bones in both arms were broken. One arm was just hairline fractures and he got to have a removable splint. The other arm was much worse and had to have a cast from fingers to armpit. Clarke pretty much layed on the couch for 5 days, which is not like him. He had to be carried everywhere, which really hurt my back. He couldn't do anything at first, and had to be fed every bite. It was exhausting. Did I mention this was the same week I got summoned for jury duty, Ty's grandma had a stroke, and we had the grand opening of Ty's dental office??? Can we say STRESS? Well, he adapted, and the splint came off after 3 weeks, and the cast after 7 weeks. He bathed in the sink, screamed through every x-ray, and knows Dr. Joe gives him succors and candies. We had to cut and stretch out clothes to fit over his arms. He will tell you, "jumped off couch--snap!" Not a fun few weeks!! or the 3 weeks after that, for that matter. He got RSV and fought symptoms for 2 weeks, then got the stomach flu (along with the rest of family) after that. Hopefully we can have a long healthy streak now.

Tumbling 1/16/12

Marissa tried something new this year and has found her real love. She has done ballet for 3 years, but now is in tumbling. She is VERY passionate about it. She no longer walks anywhere in the house, but cartwheels or flips everywhere. She is constantly practicing and trying new tricks. Her persistance has paid off though--even Ty and I can see her muscle tone developing, her flexibility improving, and her abilities multiplying. She had her first competition in January and did well. She was the only one in her class to be able to to a walkover and a couple other tricks. She was actually moved up to a higher class a couple weeks later.

Seasons Dental...getting ready for our grand opening 1/11/12

It was very exciting getting ready to open Ty's new dental office. There was so much to do for the office as well as the grand opening! We got some things made with our logo on it and this is the day they all came.

Monkeys in my bed... 1/6/12

One of the kids favorite things to do is to climb into mom and dad's bed in the morning. There they love to tease and tickle, and play and poke. You'll have to excuse Clarke who had already had a bath on this morning, but got away from me without any clothes to get into bed with daddy and the other kids.

Student of the Month 1/6/12

Marissa was the 3rd grade student of the month in January. She was so excited to make a poster about her hobbies and accomplishments. She got to eat lunch with the principle, Mrs. Valdez, at Pizza Hut and even got her own personal pan pizza, which was pretty cool! She's a good student and good example.

All dressed up for Christmas Church

Christmas morning was a little hectic--it's been a long time since Christmas day was on Sunday! But, our kids were more than willing to help us out by waking up rediculously early. Actually, we made them wait till 7 to wake Clarke up--it was painfully long for them to wait!! We did all our gifts and then had a nice breakfast before we got dressed up in our new Christmas clothes and actually made it to church on time at 10. Church was just one hour and mostly music. It was a packed service, and afterwards we came home and gave Clarke a nap, then headed out to my parents house for Christmas dinner, but I didn't take a single picture out there!

Christmas Morning

Clarke wasn't so sure about being woken up Christmas morning till he saw his choo-choo that made bubbles! 2 things he absolutely loves. Chandler and Marissa both got roller blades and still use them every chance they get. Thru the winter, they would roller blade in the garage--I would just pull the car out, and they would go round and round and round. They got the hang of it pretty quickly! Marissa and Chandler loved the gifts they exchanged--a snowman water bottle from Miss and a mini unicorn pillow pet from Champ.
