Mr. Caterpillar

Right after we got home from our trip, we found the cutest, fuzzy, black caterpillar. The kids are convinced they can feed it till it spins a cacoon and turns into a butterfly. We'll see. But they played with it all afternoon. Chandler was a little nervous--you can see it in his face. Marissa is a total animal lover--ALL creatures great and small.

Congratulations on the potty training success. It is such a relief when they finally get it. Glad you had a fun family reunion, I love it up there, it is beautiful!!

Woolly Bear! Last year around this time one of the kids in my class caught a caterpillar just like that. It happened to be right before spud harvest, and so I took the caterpillar home to try to keep alive. Well, Chad and I fell in love with our new pet and named him "Woolly Bear." We looked him up on the internet and I think he has to hibernate all winter and then if he survives winter, he'll make a cocoon in the spring and turn into a moth! ha ha. (I believe he is really called a woolly bear, but you'd have to look him up).
P.S. ours did not survive the winter.
